Interior dimensions of drawers
36 Card catalog drawers (4 vertical rows of 9 drawers on each end)
8” wide x 6.5” deep x 5.25” total height capacity (sidewall of drawer measures 3”high).
27 wide drawers (3 vertical rows of 9 horizontal drawers in middle)
37.5” wide x 20” deep (drawer is divided into two sections, the front section is 13” deep and rear section is 7” deep) x 5” total height capacity (sidewall of drawer is 4”).
We spent nearly three months carefully restoring this one-of-a-kind, solid wood, lab cabinet/card catalog which was featured on the set of True Blood on HBO.
Solid wood drawers with solid wood drawer fronts (we believe they’re red birch). We replaced three of the Douglas Fir drawer fronts with solid Alder fronts.
We refinished all of the original solid brass hardware (pulls and file label holders).
The entire cabinet was sanded down to bare wood then finished with General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain and with protective layers of oil based poly. An original 13' piece of trim was repurposed to be used as a photo ledge on top (can be removed).
The four stacks of card catalog drawers on each end of the cabinet are not as deep as the 27 main drawers. We believe this was to allow cabinet ends to wrap around pillars in its original location. As you can see by the original pictures, there was a void behind the card catalog ends. We built two bookcases out of 1/2” Baltic Birch featuring 9 adjustable shelves to fill those cut outs. Both bookcases can be removed from the main cabinet by simply unscrewing two bolts on each side.
A few of the drawer bottoms were stained with ink, so we added 1/4” refinished birch to 61 of the drawers after fully sanding the inside, sides and front of each drawer.
The cabinet rests on a custom made steel base which was powder coated.
We are including three wall mounts with anchors which we recommend using to secure the top end of the rear of the cabinet to a wall to prevent tipping.
***This is obviously a very large and very heavy piece - so please make meticulous measurements to ensure it will fit into your space.***

My usual go-to transport company delivers furniture with Sprinter vans (sometimes with trailers) and typically only has one person to deliver, so they will need an extra set of hands to help unload from the van. Once it's in the hands of the delivery company, I do not have any control over the equipment used, age, gender, race or ability of the drivers.
